What is salesforce.com?
Salesforce.com is a Cloud Computing and Enterprise CRM software services i.e. SaaS (Software as a Service).
Salesforce.com is founded in March 1999 by former Oracle executive Marc Benioff, Parker Harris, Dave Moellenhoff, and Frank Dominguez.

Salesforce builts on Force.com which is a Platform provider commonly known as PaaS (Platform as a service).

What is force.com?
Force.com is a Platform as a Service (PaaS) product designed to simplify the development and deployment of cloud-based applications and websites. Developers can create apps and websites through the cloud IDE (Integrated Development Environment) and deploy them quickly to Force.com’s multi-tenant servers.

Sales Cloud

Sales Cloud helps in tracking all your customer information and interaction at one place and close more deals at the end of the day. Now, it works with AI, Automation and Process Business flow to make it easier and faster.

Service Cloud

Salesforce Service Cloud is CRM platform for Customer Support and Service, it allows user to Automate escalations rules, one-to-one customer response using email-to-case and surveys, and also key links to articles.

Marketing Cloud

Salesforce Marketing Cloud is CRM platform that allows them to create and manage marketing campaigns and customer. 

Marking cloud helps by integrating Salesforce with multiple / various ways eg: Email, Social Website, Mobile.

Also, it incorporates Data Analysis which helps to identify where the business is growing and where lacking and what is the possible reasons.

Community Cloud

Salesforce Community Cloud is a platform to interact with customer in Salesforce via creating Customer Communities or Partner Communities.

The basic idea of Community Cloud is to provide user interface to customer to raise / open tickets in salesforce, but they do not have login access as user while customer will be interacting on the basis of Contact created in salesforce.

Analytic Cloud

Wave Analytics cloud is a platform to analyse large chunk of Data (Metadata, large # of records in salesforce or any other platform)  and prepare reports and dashboards, so that senior management can make corporate level decision as quickly as possible.

Health Cloud

Salesforce Health Cloud is a Web platform that offers a comprehensive mix of patient data views, communication tools and real-time patient engagement functionality, with a focus on improving the physician-patient relationship. The Salesforce offering can assist patients in viewing their health records.

Commerce
Salesforce Commerce Cloud is a platform for 1:1 shopping portal for customer that helps organization to unify customer experience over Mobile Apps, Web Store or  social websites. 

It also helps customer by Data analyse on customer past experience (different commercial websites) and provide relevant information on first page, so that Customer do not need to search the whole store for single product.

Salesforce App Cloud is a collection of development tools that allow developers to quickly create applications that will run on the Salesforce platform.

IoT Cloud

IoT (Internet of Things) is a hot topic today which is going to provide a lot of opportunities with lot of challenges. IoT is a giant network of connected things.
Salesforce has introduced a new platform called IoT Cloud which mainly focuses on transforming connected devices into useful customer data. The platform uses the data harvested from devices to enrich the customer interactions proactively in real time.

What is Account Territory Territory management is an account sharing system that grants access to accounts based on the characteristics of the accounts. It enables your company to structure your Salesforce data and users the same way you structure your sales territories. NOTE: same as Assignment rules for Cases and other objects, territories enables Account object sharing / assignment rules.
